Our Classes

Jiu-Jitsu

Our martial arts gym specializes in Jiu-Jitsu, with six professionally trained Jiu-Jitsu instructors. Classes are offered Monday-Friday with separate kids (ages 5-13) and adult classes.

Who is Jiu-Jitsu for?

Jiu-Jitsu classes are best suited for individuals interested in learning ground combat. Students will learn the art of close combat and non-violent submission. Jiu-Jitsu is best suited for individuals looking for a full-body workout that combines both cardio with strength training.

NoGi

NoGi is a form of Brazilian jiu-jitsu that does not allow opponents to grab clothes during combat. Additionally, there is no traditional garb worn in NoGi, rather, opponents wear shorts and a rash guard.

We offer six professional NoGi instructors at The Academy of Pensacola, as well as NoGi classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Who is NoGi for?

NoGi is for martial arts students who are interested in traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but aren’t sure where to start. NoGi teaches martial arts students the basics of the practice in a more casual setting.

Judo

Our Judo gym hosts classes on Mondays and Fridays with our six different trained instructors. This Japanese martial arts is on the gentler side of martial arts and trains students to optimize their opponents’ strength rather than directly exerting one’s own force.

Who is Judo for?

Judo classes are great for individuals hoping to improve their aerobic fitness, as Judo is an overall physical workout. A Judo gym is perfect for martial arts practitioners looking to cleanly throw or pin their opponent.

Judo also teaches mental stability and resilience. It’s more than a physical sport, it’s a mind game. Judo helps one gain the ability to develop mental concentration that will benefit martial arts growth in the long run.

Adult Martial Arts Classes

Adult martial arts classes are offered for students above 18 years old and are held Monday-Sunday. Adults can enroll in Ju-Jitsu, Nogi, and Judo classes and can partake in our Sunday tournaments to test their martial arts growth.

Kids Martial Arts Classes

We offer specific lessons for kids ages 3-17. Our different groups of classes are Jiu-Jitsu, NoGi, and Judo classes for 5 to 13-year-olds, as well as an older NoGi class for 13 to 17-year-olds. Our Little Shark program is for kiddos ages 3-6 and focuses on fun, engaging classes introducing the kids to their first exposure to martial arts.

Proud Member of the Dream Art Team
